Oh Deer!

Oh Deer, I'm a few days late with this post.  Ugh, I don't know why...I've had the card done.

Anyway, I really like Close To My Heart's Holiday paper packet called "Oh Deer!"  It is done in non-traditional colors like Sea Glass and Desert Sand.  The patterns on the paper coordinate wonderfully, too.

There are a couple things I want to mention about this card.  Notice the package?  That was cut using the new CTMH thinlets.  I used the gold glitter paper to cut the ribbon.  As a reminder, CTMH continues to make available those wonderful sketch books for both scrapbook layouts and cards.  This is a sketch from the "Make It From Your Heart Vol  2 " edition.

If you like Oh Deer!  Don't forget to stop by my website to get your own paper packet.  There is still time to make those Holiday Cards!  Also, don't forget to stop by my good friend Karen's Blog to see her wonderful creations.  For Now, Happy Crafting!

Oh Deer! Christmas Cards

I can't believe that it is Thanksgiving Week!  Whew...been working so hard at Michaels that the days have just passed me by.

Every moment I get I am busy working in my craft room.  Karen and I have been taking turns posting our creations.  And, it is my turn to post a card.

This Christmas Card features the new CTMH paper packet called "Oh Deer!"  It is elegant and fun at the same time.  The image was heat embossed in gold using a stamp from the set called "All is Bright" (A1190.)  If you look closely, you will see stars in the corners.  Those stars are also included in the stamp set.

I can still hear my Step Dad saying "time marches on."  Well, yes it does.  It is definitely time to get those Holiday Cards and projects started.  Stop by my website for more ideas and don't forget to stop by Karen's Blog for additional inspiration.  For Now, Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Crafting!

Christmas Floral Designs

Many of you will remember that not only do I make cards and scrapbook, I also teach a monthly craft class at my local community center.  I thought it would be fun to share what we are making at today's class!

The top picture is a small arrangement done in a coffee mug and completely entirely with Christmas Picks.  The bottom picture is completed in snowman hat basket.  For each we will be discussing the basics of floral design along with the tools and supplies needed to complete arrangements at home.  We always have a great time at class.  For Now, Happy Crafting!

CTMH, Oh Deer!

I love the Holiday Season and making Christmas Cards.  This year, Close To My Heart has two great looking Holiday paper packs.  Yesterday I spent the morning working with "Oh Deer!"  The designs are just what you would expect and so much more.  Deer, snowflakes and stars are featured.  But, it is the color scheme that is surprising.  Sea glass, the CTMH color of the year is highlighted along with soft shades of brown.

I wanted to do a fun fold card.  I remembered how I had used to do flap fold cards so I dug through my old papers and found the measurements.

There is so much in this one little A2 sized card.  There is the glitter paper, rock and roll stamping on the pine cones and random stamping for the pine needles.  The stamp set I used for the "fancy" stamping is called Perfectly Pine (A1191.)

I also wanted to make sure I had a sentiment stamped one the inside of the card.  This sentiment is from the new set called "Season of Magic" (C1665.)

Let me give you the measurements and scoring lines for cutting this card.
     Base - 4 1/4 x 9 3/4 inches
     Flat - 3 1/2 x 6 inches
Score base on the long side at the 5 1/2inch mark
Score flat on the long side at the 11/2 inch mark
Attach the 11/2 inch flap to the back of the card on the 5 1/2 inch side and decorate as you wish.

I can't believe that it is November already!  Time to really put the last push on the Holiday cards.  I've been working like crazy at work designing all kinds of floral arrangements (over 600 already) and will post a few soon.  If you like Oh Deer! stop by my website to see it further and to maybe even purchase a packet for yourself.  Also, stop by my friend Karen's Blog to see what she has been doing.  For Now, Happy Crafting!

Close To My Heart and City Sidewalks

Well, the time has come to post another example of CTMH's City Sidewalks paper packets.  This is a fun and very useable Holiday packet that is available in the Seasonal Expressions II mini Idea Book.  I like the fact that it features not only Willow (one of the new colors) but also features Cranberry.  Cranberry has been a mainstay color since before I became a consultant.  City Sidewalks even has a coordinating Cricut Cartridge!

To complete this card, I used 2 of the patterns included I the paper packet.  By the way, the product number of City Sidewalks is X7213B.  "Joy" can be found in the stamp set called Very Merry (D1694.)  Look at the tree...don't you love it!  It is from the coordinating Cricut Cartridge.  The images match the papers.
The possibilities with CTMH never end!  Did I mention that the new 2017 Planner has been released?!?  I don't have mine yet, but it is on order.  Stop by my website to see the planner and to check out City Sidewalks for your self.  Also, don't forget to check out my friend Karen's Blog for even more CTMH inspiration.  For Now, Happy Crafting!

Close To My Heart City Sidewalks

I am sorry that I am a day or so late with my post.  I participated in a craft fair at my Community.  I had a table last year so when the opportunity came up again this year, it had to be done.  But, I will tell you that having a table is a lot of preparation work.

Before I share a picture of the table, let's talk Close To My Heart...

This month, Karen and I have decided to highlight City Sidewalks (X7213B.)  This is a colorful paper packet that features Willow...one of CTMH's new colors.  CTMH came up with a great idea this year...they have a separate package of the featured colored cardstock.  This gives you the opportunity to have extra sheets to make more cards and scrapbook layouts.  The City Sidewalks packet includes 12 sheets... 3 each of Cranberry, Lagoon, Peacock and Willow.

If you look closely at the background word search papers, you will find Christmas words...what fun.  Anyway, Karen and I also decided to feature a new stamp set called "Very Merry" (D1694.)  Not only does it have sentiments that work perfectly for the outside, but it also has great sentiments for the inside of your cards.  By the way, the Christmas Tree is cut out using the new CTMH Cricut Cartridge called Flower Market (Z3285.)

As I mentioned earlier, I did a craft fair this weekend.  This is my table.  Many of the items I sold were items that had been made at the craft class that I teach here at the Community.  Of course I always have my cards and my scrapbooks.

I love to make Christmas Cards.  This year, Close To My Heart has two wonderful paper packets to make those cards with.  Next month, Karen and I will be featuring the other one...I shall keep you in suspense.  Don't forget to stop by Karen's Blog for more samples of artwork using City Sidewalks.  Also, don't forget to stop by my website for more information or to purchase your set of City Sidewalks.  For Now, Happy Crafting!
